Opening Zip Files for OD....what program opens them & what file do I send the downloads to , etc.???

Hi Everyone!

I downloaded lots of "stuff" from WinCustomize from the "Object Dock" pages, and now I don't know what to do when I unzip them!  What path should I select so they end up in an easily-to-find place when I need them?

Also, what is the correct answer to give when Windows opens that little message box that says; "Windows can't open this file......what program do you want to use to open it in the future?"  (I paraphrased it a bit.....I hope you know what I mean....if Windows doesn't recognize the file extension, it routes you online to "fileext.com", and they tell you what program it's associated with).

I'm tempted to open the Zip-files to 'C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Dock', but I really want someone who knows how to do this to tell me for sure!! (I don't trust myself when it comes to decisions like this, as I'm still new at using all the terrific 'Desktop Toys' that came with my Object Desktop Membership.  I'm SO GLAD I signed-up for this; it's worth EVERY PENNY!!!  I started out with Wincustomize about 5-6 years ago (give or take a year) when I heard about your site while watching Chris Pirillo---a.k.a. "Lockergnome"--- on "Call for Help" on the now defunct "TECH TV" cable channel.  My first purchase was "CursorXP-Plus", and when I got a new laptop, my very first addition to it was "CursorFX-Plus" (it runs Vista Home Premium). Microsoft might do OK making software, but when it comes to imagination and fun, they have LOTS to learn!!  They couldn't make a nice cursor to save their lives!!

Anyway, will someone PLEASE explain all the steps needed to open these Object Dock zip-files; what program I have to select to OPEN these files; where I should send them; where I should keep them; and most importantly, how to install them so I can decorate my docks now and in the future.

Thanks in advance for your help, I really appreciate it!

Gratefully,                                                                                                                                                             gardenspook

As far as to where to put your dock backgrounds/tiles/tabbed/nontabbed after you unzip them...they should go in your Programs/Stardock/Objectdock/backgrounds folder in order to fully get use of the backgrounds.

As far as any pngs you download to use...try to keep them in themed folders and just send them to the Programs/Stardock/Objectdock...Then when you want to change an image for your programs or whatever they will be there.
